Committees

Our Committees are comprised of volunteer members within our Association who donate their time and resources to better our community. If you are interested in joining one of our committees, please contact out Association office for more information.

Bylaws Committee

Annually examining the Association's Bylaws, and Policies and Procedures in order to recommend changes, amendments, or modifications, to insure the Association's compliance with the law, compliance with our trade organization, and keep the Association efficient in its government, and relevant to the needs of the members.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

To include Fair Housing, and diversity: implementing the programs designed by NAR, while customizing them for our market and our Association, as well as planning events focusing on diversity awareness, and fair housing. Educating our members to embrace equality and inclusivity, honoring individuals, and respecting differing perspectives to reach common goals for the betterment of all.

Community Outreach Committee

To promote the REALTOR® name, "That's Who We R", by demonstrating and promoting the value of a REALTOR® to the consumer through involvement in activities and programs for the betterment of the community.

Education Committee

To facilitate training and development initiatives for the Mid Carolina Regional Association and our Staff, encompassing designation programs, ongoing education, and avenues for professional growth.

Grievance Committee

Acts as a reviewing body for complaints turned into the Association to determine whether to dismiss or send forward to the Professional Standards Committee for a hearing. Members are required to be a REALTOR® member for two consecutive years to be eligible, and all members of the Grievance and Professional Standards Committee must attend an approved training session as soon as possible after committee appointment and at least every two years after.

Professional Standards Committee

The Professional Standards committee holds formal hearings when an Arbitration complaint is filed; also holds formal hearings when recommended by the Grievance Committee involving alleged ethical and MLS Rules & Regulations violations. Sits on a hearing Panel when requested. Recommends to the Board of Directors policies in the areas of Ethics and Arbitration. Works with the Grievance Committee in keeping the membership informed on Ethics and Standards of Practice. MUST attend MCRAR Professional Standards Training Sessions (paid for by the Association) to be on this committee. Stays current on all Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice changes. Finance Committee

Serves as the fiscal arm of the Association. Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding all financial activities and requests for non-budgeted items. Prepares the annual operating budget.

RPAC/Legislative Committee

RPAC: Our committee actively supports REALTORS® PAC in compliance with North Carolina political fundraising guidelines. The committee's focus is on fundraising dollars and educating members about RPAC.

Members of the Legislative Committee work hand in hand with the RPAC committee and the association's shared Government Affairs Director to participate in candidate interviews and evaluate candidate scorecards to determine funding levels with RPAC dollars.
